V3 ON THE GROUND: GREATER WEIGHT, OR A STEP BACKWARDS?

Contents

Ground handling became one of V3's most divided subjects. Deelee6800, identifying MSFS 2020 and 3.0.0.7438, reported ineffective tiller response at very low speed and having to stop before moving again. GlitteryGecko5 found it hard to hold steady speed through turns. These are concrete unsatisfactory results, not simply an aversion to change, and deserve space alongside the developer's handling claims. Deelee6800 later revised the verdict after smaller tiller inputs and a brake-curve adjustment. That adjustment remains the user's experiment, not this chapter's prescription. Another owner may have different hardware or a different fault. The historical point is that a critical account changed with use and configuration, and the change should stay visible. On 24–25 October, FaultedBirch573 welcomed a "noticeable sense of inertia", Goose1549 particularly liked the ground handling, and FutureCave14666 questioned how freely the IAE variants rolled at idle. This supports a mixed first reception. It does not establish that all complaints were technique, or that the new model was generally defective. Simulator edition, variant, loading and input setup belong in a serious follow-up test. [46, Posts 8624 and 8627–8628; 24–25 October 2026]
