HOW TO USE THE PICTURES, SOURCES AND WORKED EXAMPLE

Contents

Revision 3.1 covers Fenix V3. Operating instructions, configuration tips and troubleshooting in this companion apply to V3; earlier software-version recipes are not part of the current workflow. The history chapters describe product development separately. [2, V3 release; 21 October 2026]

The checklists in the online companion are clickable: select a checkbox to mark an item as complete. Your selections are saved in the same browser and remain available when you return. An illustration might be an original Fenix view, an attributed Airbus drawing or an explanatory graphic; the caption tells you which. Look first for the actual control or indication, then connect it with the paragraph beside it. A manufacturer's system drawing can explain where air or electricity goes, while a cockpit picture helps you find the relevant selector. They answer different questions, and both are useful.

The numbered references are clickable. They lead to the full source entry in the bibliography, where you can identify the author or organisation, document and edition. The words beside the number locate the supporting passage. A reference to PDF page 123 means the 123rd physical page of that supplied file; the manual may print a different chapter and page number on it. We also distinguish established aircraft principles from dated Fenix V3 development notes, so an October 2026 software issue does not quietly become an Airbus operating rule.

The worked flight contains a teaching dataset: a chosen aircraft, route example, masses and fuel figures. Those make it possible to follow the arithmetic and repeat the exercises. Your own flight needs its own current Operational Flight Plan, or OFP, together with the actual weather, clearance, loading and performance calculation. Treat the example as a set of worked sums. When the question changes, such as a different runway or passenger load, the affected answers need another look.
