NORMAL CHECKLISTS

REVISION 1 / FENIX A319-A320-A321 CEO INDEX | FLIGHT DATA Aircraft: A320 / Engine: Cfm56

A321: Check the installed transfer/ACT configuration and the longer-aircraft ground/rotation picture. [FAM; FT]

A319/A320: Verify the matching fuel-system and performance configuration. [FAM; FT]

CFM: N1 is the primary thrust reference. Monitor the CFM start sequence. [M16; IC02]

IAE: EPR is the primary thrust reference. Monitor the IAE start sequence and selected motoring option. [V3; IC02]

POWER-UP

Allow the EFB panel-state transition to finish. Select external power only after AVAIL appears, then confirm actual supply. Keep the aircraft stationary during IRS alignment and check the initialized position before taxi.

COCKPIT PREPARATION

Complete oxygen, fire-detection and annunciator tests using the installed normal procedure. Fire tests do not require discharging extinguishers. During refueling, coordinate the appropriate signs, doors and ground-service configuration.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.06, PDF pp.1010-1033; [IC01].

FMGS & PERFORMANCE

Runway/intersection, weather, surface condition, actual mass, flap setting, anti-ice and pack assumptions must match the calculation. Recalculate after changes and use the correct engine/wingtip variant. Resolve route discontinuities deliberately.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.06-07, PDF pp.1024-1038; [IC01].

BEFORE START

Confirm APU AVAIL and APU GEN enabled. For transfer from GPU before start, select EXT PWR OFF and verify APU bus supply before the physical GPU disconnect. Separately confirm APU BLEED and start-air availability. Establish start/pushback communication and engine-area clearance.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.07, PDF pp.1034-1040; [IC02].

ENGINE START

Use the start order required by the selected SOP and ground arrangement. Monitor N2, fuel/EGT response, oil indications and stabilization; do not substitute a fixed countdown. CFM normally references N1 for thrust, IAE EPR. Use the installed variant limits.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.08, PDF pp.1039-1047; [IC02].

AFTER START

Crosscheck trim and flap position against current takeoff data. Confirm generator and normal bleed/pack supply before removing the APU source. Verify ground-crew clearance and tow-pin removal before moving.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.09, PDF pp.1048-1050; [IC02].

TAXI

Perform complex MCDU/EFB tasks while stopped. Monitor hold-short/ILS protected areas and wingtip clearance. Verify low-speed brake and steering response on your actual hardware setup.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.10, PDF pp.1051-1062; [IC03].

BEFORE TAKEOFF

Allow the Virtual Purser/cabin check to finish. T.O CONFIG does not replace the complete T.O MEMO, STATUS, performance or runway scan. Investigate any remaining item before departure.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.11, PDF pp.1063-1064; [IC03].

TAKEOFF

Read the actual FMA for thrust, vertical and lateral guidance. Use calculated V1/VR/V2, rotate smoothly and follow the intended flight path. Apply the trained rejected-takeoff policy; no universal rejection criteria are supplied here.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.12, PDF pp.1065-1072; [IC04].

AFTER TAKEOFF / CLIMB

Retract according to the displayed speed schedule and limits. An FCU target is not an ATC clearance. Set STD at the applicable transition altitude and crosscheck references. Verify active modes after capture or clearance changes.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.13-14, PDF pp.1073-1077; [IC05].

CRUISE

Compare actual fuel with the OFP and monitor reserve/alternate options. Review weather, position and system trends. After a simulator pause, re-establish the aircraft state and next restriction before resuming.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.15, PDF pp.1078-1081; [IC06].

DESCENT PREPARATION

Confirm actual DES/OP DES/V/S behavior. Route changes and tailwind affect energy and descent distance. Recalculate landing data and rebrief after a runway or weather change. Use the correct pressure reference at transition level.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.16-17, PDF pp.1082-1090; [IC07].

APPROACH / LANDING CHECK

APPR is procedure-dependent, not a universal button for every approach. For ILS, set missed-approach altitude at the correct stage after established vertical capture. Training gate: stable by 1000 ft above aerodrome and thereafter; otherwise go around.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.18, PDF pp.1091-1110; [IC08].

LANDING / ROLLOUT

RETARD is a reminder, not one fixed thrust-reduction time. Check actual spoiler deployment and deceleration. Once reverse has been selected, continue the landing. Do not force a runway exit at excessive speed.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.22, PDF pp.1139-1154; [IC08].

GO-AROUND

TOGA initiates the normal go-around logic; verify FMA and flight path. Use the required flap sequence and monitor pitch/energy. This card does not cover engine-out, windshear or another special maneuver.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.23, PDF pp.1155-1158; [IC09].

AFTER LANDING

Adverse weather, icing or hot brakes can require a different configuration. Use the installed procedure. Single-engine taxi needs its own timing/system plan; do not improvise it from this two-engine normal flow.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.24, PDF pp.1159-1160; [IC10].

PARKING / SHUTDOWN

Engine generators have priority over APU and external power. Before engine shutdown, establish APU AVAIL with APU GEN enabled, or select available EXT PWR ON as appropriate. Monitor and confirm bus supply as the engine generators go offline. Coordinate restraints, brake conditions, engine rundown and safe door/slide handling. [M02 PDF p.6; FC3 SOP 3.03.25, PDF p.1161]

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.25, PDF pp.1161-1165; [IC10].

SECURING AIRCRAFT

Use the installed securing procedure for the final system selections. Allow the APU shutdown sequence to complete. Remove external power as planned and switch batteries off at the appropriate final stage, after other system work.

Source: [FC3], SOP 3.03.26, PDF pp.1166; [IC10].

WALKAROUND

Use the modeled walkaround and applicable procedure. Confirm that protective items and servicing states agree with the planned flight. A clean external camera view is not an aircraft-condition inspection checklist.

CFM START CROSSCHECK

CFM family ratings differ by airframe: A319 -5B6/-5B7, A320 -5B4, A321 -5B3. Follow N2, fuel/EGT, N1/oil and stable idle using the loaded engine procedure. [FAM; M16; IC02]

IAE START CROSSCHECK

Use the loaded IAE procedure. Do not transfer CFM starter, idle or temperature thresholds to IAE. The photographed EPR display is an example, not a numeric target. Callouts locate the primary and supporting engine indications.

NAVDATA CROSSCHECK

Update before flight planning. Downloaded data first entering STANDBY is not automatically the database used for navigation. Do not activate future-dated data early or reset a prepared FMS casually. Image dates are historical examples.

LOADSHEET REVISIONS

A revised final loadsheet can change mass, CG and performance. Accepting a message does not enter its new numbers into the FMGS. Reconcile actual loading, EFB, loadsheet, ECAM fuel and MCDU before departure.

PERFORMANCE CHANGE

Do not keep full-length performance after an unassessed intersection change. No universal speed or FLEX set is supplied. Use the current EFB tool and installed limits for the loaded variant.

CABIN / GROUND READY

Callout 1 locates Cabin Ready, 2 doors/slides and 3 temperature. They are separate states. A call can expedite supported cabin work, but it is not proof that the work is already complete.

COLD-WEATHER PLAN

Use current procedures and applicable fluid/holdover information. Wing anti-ice does not remove the need for proper ground contamination protection. This card deliberately supplies no universal icing temperature or holdover time.

LANDING CONDITIONS

Use the correct landing performance method and current aircraft status. A stronger autobrake selection does not automatically make a runway adequate. If a valid, stable landing cannot be assured, choose another plan.

MODE TRANSFER

Callouts locate speed, heading, altitude and guidance controls. The pictured state is not a mode target. Selected targets, managed plans and actual FMA engagement are separate facts.

APPROACH AID CHECK

An illuminated APPR button is not proof of established localizer/glideslope tracking. For non-ILS procedures, use the appropriate guidance method and minima reference. Do not fly example chart numbers from a training screenshot.

AUTOLAND PLANNING

Coupled ILS guidance is not automatically an autoland. Use the installed variant limits and capability indications; no generic wind or engagement-height set is supplied. Begin practice in benign simulator conditions.

POWER TRANSFER

The vector panel identifies BAT 1, BAT 2, EXT PWR and APU GEN. Check the replacement source is ready. Engine generators retain priority; monitor and confirm the new bus supply as they go offline. For ground-source changes with engines off, verify supply before physically disconnecting equipment. [M02 PDF p.6; FC3 PDF p.1161; PNL-O]

HARDWARE BASELINE

Confirm the simulated levers, not only hardware LEDs or the simulator axis menu. Check that CL is reliably reached. A persistent axis conflict can mimic an autopilot or flight-control fault.

DOCUMENT READINESS

Open the required procedure before beginning the exercise. The PDF verification squares are interactive fields; the EFB package also provides native tap-to-check normal lists. [S9; E1]

TRAINING / FAILURE SETUP

Use the current failure interface and installed procedures. Do not improvise fire, engine-out, emergency-descent or windshear actions from this normal checklist book. No operational memory-item completeness is claimed.
