ARRANGE THE COCKPIT FOR THE WORK AHEAD
Organise preparation around system selections, main-panel crosschecks and pedestal entries. Complete the required work in a repeatable sequence, using the receiving system or indication to confirm each result. This keeps the preparation connected to the aircraft state as successive systems become available. [14, PDF p. 1010] [19, PDF p. 3]
Use the displays to crosscheck a selection through its effect. The FMA and raw guidance indications establish what the aircraft is following; the ECAM system pages expose supply paths, configurations and surface movement. Select the page that can answer the question you are investigating, rather than relying on the position of the initiating control alone. [20, PDF p. 4]
Set comfortable views for the overhead, instruments and pedestal before moving. Keep the outside view available during ground operation and avoid prolonged head-down work while taxiing. A useful camera setup reduces the effort of moving between the aircraft state, controls and environment without dictating where all your attention remains.
